is an art historian with a focus on representation and gender/sexuality, theory of the gaze, history and theory of visual media and contemporary art.
She directed the conception and making of a digital library of the works of VALIE EXPORT/Vienna and has been Research Fellow at the Center for Feminist Studies at Bremen University (2000-2003), teaching at the study program of Art History/Art Education.

Her PhD Thesis (OPERATION VIDEO. Eine Technik des Nahsehens und ihr spezifisches Subjekt: die Videokünstlerin der 1970er Jahre) has been published at transcript (Bielefeld), 2007, Studien zur Visuellen Kultur, ed. by Sigrid Schade und Silke Wenk.
