Mare Tralla

is an Estonian-born visual and media artist and organiser who currently lives in London. She was programme chair of ISEA2004 in Tallinn.
In 2000-2003 she was professor and the head of E- media Centre at the Estonian Academy of Arts. In Estonia she is notoriously known as feminist artist, starting with co-organizing first Estonian feminist art project ‘Est.Fem’ in 1995. Her ironical artwork questions the place and the role of women in society and often looks at how women from Eastern Europe are perceived or seen as in the Western world. In 2011 she was part of the first Estonian queer art exhibition “Untold Stories”
